Objectives of the Group

We are a large and friendly Group, who are interested in the buildings and settlements of the local area. We arrange talks in the winter months and trips to towns, villages and individual buildings once the weather gets warmer. We have a varied programme which includes the ancient and modern, usually with knowledgeable local guides. Our tours often finish in the local pub or teashop!

We meet on the third Thursday of the month, generally at 10.30am. Some of our visits do have limited numbers and we have Booking Forms at the General Meetings where you can put your name down. If you have any questions, please phone Luke on 07774 251197.

THURSDAY 20 FEBRUARY 2025 – 10.30am

WELTON VILLAGE HALL

Tea/coffee and biscuits will be served on arrival, followed by a talk on the above topic by Vic Hughes of Lincoln Civic Trust.

Many will remember Vic from his very enthusiastic guided tour of St Mary’s Guildhall last September. If you wish to hear Vic share his extensive knowledge of Lincoln’s buildings, please add your name to the Booking Form which will be on the Architecture Group’s table at the January 2025 and February 2025 General Meetings.

A small charge of £2.00 per member will be payable at the door.

ARCHITECTURE GROUP

VISIT TO ST ANNE’S BEDE HOUSES AND CHAPEL

33 SEWELL ROAD, LINCOLN. LN2 5QS

FRIDAY 21 MARCH 2025 - 10.15AM FOR 10.30AM

We will meet at the Chapel where our guide Paul will take us on a tour of the above Grade II listed buildings.

There is only on-street parking in the area and this may be restricted. Car sharing is therefore recommended. Alternatively, members travelling by bus can get off at the stop nearest the Lincoln Hotel and walk to Sewell Road. Donations of £5 per person are requested and we will collect the payments on arrival.

A maximum of 24 members can be taken on the tour. If you wish to join us, please add your name to the Booking Form which will be on the Architecture Group’s table in the Welton Room at the February and March General Meetings.
