About Us

u3a is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment, providing educational, creative and leisure opportunities in a friendly environment. It consists of local u3as all over the UK, which are charities in their own right and are run entirely by volunteers.

Local u3as are learning cooperatives which draw upon the knowledge, experience and skills of their own members to organise and provide interest groups in accordance with the wishes of the membership.

There are many groups covering a wide range of topics from Architecture through to Walking.

The Lindsey u3a membership meets on the first Thursday of the month, except in May, in the Welton Village Hall, Ryland Road, Welton. The meeting starts at 10:30, and the doors open at 9:30 to give you time to enjoy a cup of coffee/tea and a biscuit before the meeting starts. During this time members have the opportunity to visit the various groups’ tables to discuss and perhaps enrol in their activities. During the meeting a speaker entertains us with an interesting topic, usually accompanied with visual aids.
