Group Leader: Luke Pickering

Objectives of the Group

We are a large and friendly Group, who are interested in the buildings and settlements of the local area.  We arrange talks in the winter months and trips to towns, villages and individual buildings once the weather gets warmer.  We have a varied programme which includes the ancient and modern, usually with knowledgeable local guides.  Our tours often finish in the local pub or teashop!

We meet on the third Thursday of the month, generally at 10.30am. Some of our visits do have limited numbers and we have Booking Forms at the General Meetings where you can put your name down. If you have any questions, please phone Luke on 07774 251197.

See below for photos taken at some of our events, and reports are accessible.

HUMBERSTON FITTIES HERITAGE TOUR

HUMBERSTON FITTIES CHALET PARK, ANTHONY'S BANK. DN36 4EZ

THURSDAY 7 MAY 2026 AT 10.15AM FOR 10.30AM

We are fortunate to have arranged a visit to this unique, historic conservation area and holiday chalet park near Cleethorpes, just over an hour’s drive from Lincoln. Established in the 1920s and set in a quiet and charming seaside retreat, it is one of the last of the many plotland developments in England and is known for its quirky, individually designed chalets.

Our guide(s) will meet us at the entrance to the Park, ready for a 10.30am start. The tour will take around 2 hours and include walking on paths, tracks and grass verges. Therefore, suitable walking boots/shoes are required.

The tour will include a stop to look inside one of the chalets. Teas/coffees are to be provided (donations welcome).   Toilet facilities are offered during the tour, but unfortunately not disabled options.

The cost of the tour is £5 per person, which will be collected from members on arrival. There will also be an opportunity to purchase Fitties Books and Publications from £7.50 to £20.00, if you would like to learn more about this unusual, tranquil coastal resort.

Numbers are restricted to 25 members. If you wish to join us on what we hope will be an interesting and enjoyable visit, please add your name to the Booking Form which can be found on the Architecture Group’s table at the April General Meeting.
